Defining the term

The term “regenerative agriculture” was first used by the Rodale Institute in the U.S. in the early 1980s. Although the term was new, there was nothing particularly innovative about its principles. Regenerative agriculture incorporates farming methods that humanity has applied since ancient times.

Regenerative agriculture is all about protecting the soil, improving its health, and increasing biodiversity in order to make farming sustainable and less harmful for the environment. So, what are regenerative agriculture practices? There are five basic principles farmers should adhere to. Let’s go through them one by one but in no particular order, as all of them equally contribute to the cause.
